Pantone has revealed the colors of 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity!

A soft pink and a pale blue were selected this year - the first time Pantone has announced two colors! These shades are described as "welcoming," and "reassuring," and will, no doubt, be featured everywhere.  The color of the year is a macro influence, popping up not only in the fashion world but also in technology, interior design, and advertising - and just about anywhere else color plays a significant role.  These two colors have been spotted by Pantone's very selective, fashion-forward staff in more places than you can imagine, leading to their selection as 2016's colors du jour.  2015's color, a warm red-brown called Marsala, could be seen on popular websites, on trendy runways, and on ultra-modern automobiles before being named Color of the Year.  While specific colors become popular and seem to cover the world, color trends are fleeting, and as a result, specific colors become significant markers of certain periods of time.
